The stereotypical British weather couldn’t dampen the spirits on the first full day of XUK English.
The students woke up to a traditional ‘full-English breakfast’ (also including cereal and toast for the less adventurous), before a full tour of the grounds and placement testing for the English classes which start tomorrow.
After a lunch of soup and salad, the students divided into their respective afternoon activities. These ranged from postcard making in the art room and football out in the elements, to a session with Emily in the dance studio and fencing inside the sports hall.
Once the students had wolfed down their Lasagne for dinner, they were all treated to an evening activity in the sports hall. Artists could draw strange creatures collectively, budding engineers could build up objects from scraps, agile athletes could dodge pink balls and lightning-quick students could race sloth-like teachers. A busy but fulfilling day.
Tomorrow the students will begin their educational and fun English classes.
