The whole camp has visited Cambridge today, the historical university city with plenty of sights, shops and smiles from our campers as they explored!
Our campers split into smaller groups and with their leaders choose what part of Cambridge they would like to visit. Some went to the shops and bought souvenirs and gifts for loved ones back home. Others went for a bite to eat and sampled some of the local treats, including some fudge from the famous fudge kitchen near Kings College. And one group had their photo taken outside the Eagle, the place where Francis Crick and James Watson announced they had "discovered the secret of life" with their proposal for the structure of DNA! Very educational!
We have all enjoyed a BBQ dinner in typical British fashion, braving a few drops of rain! However, the sun managed to break through just in time to start the Wide Game, an XUK Wednesday night tradition. If the campers could find some of our leaders who were hidden around the site, we will be impressed!
